If you've been paying attention to our daily schedule of programing, you'll notice that we've done a little change up with our programing. Beginning the day after the Christ Mass a new show was added called "12 Days of Christmas". While much of our programming has switched over to daily praise and prayer, we wanted to make sure that we honored the Christmas SEASON! So enjoy the festive songs of our Savior's birth! And don't forget to tell your friends and neighbors what secret treasure you've found on the Internet...MSJ Radio.
Merry Christmas!!!

New Program!!!
Our first addition to the programing schedule is up and running! Each day at 9:30 am we will be offering a time of daily prayer and meditation. The show is called Celtic Blessing and features Celtic music of prayer and daily scripture readings with a reflection. Currently the readings and reflection are coming from a Roman Catholic source. However in the days to come we hope to highlight various Anglican prayers including the beloved Morning Prayer. We pray that this show may place you in the right spirit as you start your day. Blessings!!!

How Does This Thing Work?
Good question! But first things first. It appears that the launch of this station has been greeted with some moderate success. According to the stats we have had a number of listeners in the past couple of days who have liked the station enough to add it as a "preset". This is good because it means that they plan on returning and listening more. MSJ Radio is also being listened to from Michigan to Florida, from Ohio to California and even in CANADA!!! Not bad for a station in it's infancy.
So how do I get the songs and other stuff for this station? Well, the music comes from MP3s that I have on my hard drive. As I get more music I'll be able to share it with you. That means if you have a song or piece of music that you think is particularly good....LET ME KNOW! I will also take MP3s of sermons or meditations that you would be willing to submit. Not everything will make it on to the station but I do want to have a good representation of the ministries of the MSJ.
You can also help me decide what music to play by voting up or down on the tracks you listen to. In the player you will notice a "thumbs up/thumbs down" icon beside the track. Vote for your favorites!
I'm working on putting together a daily and weekly schedule that will help you know when you wish to be tuning in. As I have more material to work with the schedule will be more complete. Right now I'm rotating two playlists of Advent/Christmas music but will be adding more programs in the next couple of weeks.
Again, thanks for listening and telling your friends. The more listeners we have will allow me to look into a more professional format and expand the choices we have. May God bless your listening.

Open Call!!!
This is an open call for all the members of the Missionary Society of St. John the Evangelist. If you are currently or will soon be recording services or sermons; if you have suggestions of hymns or praise songs; if you have a story you want to share....I WANT TO TALK TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Help me fill up my playlist. It is my desire that this radio station will be able to share the best of what the MSJ has available. We can use it to uplift our hearts as well as the hearts of others and to share the music that we use in our weekly Mass. Also, if you have a suggestion of additional programing that you would like to see I would love to hear. Please email me at this address.

MSJ Radio
ARE YOU LISTENING?????
This is the official blogsite of MSJ Radio! The station started as a little speck of an idea about 2 years ago. I was just starting to listen to internet radio when I was at work and I was fascinated with the idea of being able to design a station that would focus on a certain type of listener without trying to appeal to everyone. The fact was that I was constantly frustrated with the choices I had for music on the radio. As an Evangelical Anglo-Catholic I just couldn't find the blend of traditional hymns and service music that also incorporated the best of contemporary praise music. On top of that, I also wanted to hear stirring sermons that lifted my heart and drew me ever closer to God.
So here is my station! I'll be honest that I also hope that it will give people a taste of the kind worship that they could expect when they visit a church that is affiliated with the Missionary Society of St. John the Evangelist. I hope to include sermons from our far flung parishes as well as Daily Prayer and interviews with the clergy and laity of the MSJ.
My first playlist comes as a result of hearing one too many versions of "Let it Snow" on the radio. I hope you enjoy the mix of Advent and Christmas songs and carols that I've chosen. My guess is that you won't hear them on your local "We've been celebrating Christmas since Halloween" radio station. One thing is certain, you'll never hear "I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas" on this Radio Station.
